Dr. Robert Walters
Dr. Walters graduated from the University of Iowa Carver School of Medicine with M.D. and Ph.D. (Physiology) degrees. He completed his residency in Dermatology at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC, and was Chief Resident in Dermatology. Prior to moving to New Mexico, Dr. Walters held an appointment as Assistant Professor in Dermatology at Duke University, where he taught dermatology to residents, investigated dermatologic diseases, and cared for patients with chronic and acute dermatologic diseases.
At Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center of NM (DSCCNM), Dr. Walters has built a large patient base by focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with precancerous skin changes, non-melanoma skin cancers and melanoma, offering them preventive care, early diagnosis and on-site surgical care and follow-up at DSCCNM’s state-of-the-art facility. Dr. Walters encourages new patients with concerns for skin cancer to call for a scheduled appointment, and welcomes both physician and self-referrals.
Dr. Walters enjoys trail running and attending music festivals in New Mexico’s beautiful scenic outdoors.
